moe. is currently in the midst of their spring tour, delivering their rock heavy jams all over the country. Last night, they played their fourth and final night at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA. Up-and-coming, high-energy groove rockers Aqueous just so happened to be playing at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club supporting Dopapod when they decided to zip across town to see the end of moe. While talking backstage, Al Schnier had the idea for members of Aqueous to emerge on the band’s instruments for the encore to surprise the audience.

With Mike Gantzer on Chuck’s guitar, Evan McPhaden on a Rob’s bass, Dave Loss on Al’s guitar, and Rob Houk on Vinnie’s drums, the band played an improvisational jam before closing with hints of an Aqueous original, “Random Company.” The band then switched back with the moe. members who closed out with “Comfortably Numb” cover by Pink Floyd.

As done the previous evening, moe. played three sets. The vibe was true from the beginning, opening with a “Zed Naught Z” that appeared again half way through the second set. Crowd favorites “Captain America,” “Lazarus” and “Buster” made their way in, before the band closed with a rocking “St. Augustine” segue into “Same Old Story.”

The surprise ending was the perfect way to close four nights at The Sinclair. You can watch the encore’s band swap below:
