Atlanta’s Candler Park Music and Food Festival is right around corner and ready for a successful 2-day event, June 3rd-4th, with a lineup that features hometown rocker Chris Robinson Brotherhood, NOLA powerhouses Galactic and The Revivalists, as well as Yonder Mountain String Band, Keller Williams, and so many more.

With a great lineup, inexpensive ticket ($20 for a GA pass for the entire weekend, $60 for VIP), delicious food and brews from local vendors, and a 5k race to benefit Atlanta Contact Point, Candler Park organizers have touched on all their bases with planning out this year’s event (purchase tickets HERE).

We had the opportunity to chat with festival producer Rival Entertainment’s Brandon Mize about this year’s event:

L4LM: Tell us about this year’s headliners.

Brandon Mize: “Headliner” is such a loose term for this event. We feel we have a strong overall line up and that many of the bands could be considered a “Headliner.” We’re very excited for Galactic, and for those that haven’t had the pleasure of witnessing a show by them you are in for a treat: they bring the funk, the rock, the soul and will keep you on your feet dancing the whole time. Saturday’s is one of Atlanta’s favorite hometown guys – Chris Robinson’s Brotherhood. Chris and his band have found their groove and know how to put on a show. I think they are a perfect way to close out this year’s event and will keep the festival goers dancing until the end.

L4LM: What do you think makes Candler Park unique/different?

BM: I think what makes this event unique is the fact that you get top tier artists throughout both days for a lower ticket price than what it would cost you to see any one of them at a club in town. Also, the huge amount of food trucks for your tasting pleasure (check the vendors out HERE), along with Terrapin Brewing Co. providing the brews makes for a delicious combination of music, food, and drink.

L4LM: Which up and coming acts on the bill do you think will surprise people the most?

BM: What’s great about this event is what is considered an “up and coming” artist to one is a popular favorite to another.  With that being said I think some of our own local talent will turn some heads like Blair Crimmins & The Hookers, King Baby and Great Peacock (out of Nashville).
