This March is set to kick off with a bang with a little help from South African electro-funk sensation Goldfish. The internationally recognized live house duo will take over NYC’s Webster Hall on March 4th, kicking off a US mini-tour that concludes in St. Augustine for Fool’s Paradise on April 1st & 2nd. With support from Sigala, Branx, Alex English, Dali and Hiyawatha, this show is set to be an all-out rager. Tickets are available here.

L4LM Interviews South African Dance Music Sensation Goldfish

When you live in a city like New York, let’s face it, there’s no shortage of concerts around every corner. Thus, when something completely unique and out-of-the-box comes around, you grab at the opportunity. Dom and Dave of Goldfish incorporate their classical jazz training with modern day house music to create a sound that sits distinctly on the electronic spectrum while being musically tight, complex, and sophisticated. Ranging from pop to swing house to jazz, their songs maintain the upbeat energy and infectious beat of a club banger, with melodies soothing enough to enjoy in the comfort of your home.

Goldfish’s live show, however, is an experience, to say the least. The duo dabbles in flute, upright bass, sax, and keys, all the while looping and sampling the material live. This two-man army is more dynamic and powerful than most full-blown bands.

When they’re not tearing it up on stage and selling out festivals and arenas throughout South Africa, they’re getting crafty with animated shorts to go along with their music. Check out the tongue-in-cheek video for “One Million Views” (which, ironically, did hit one million views).
