The holiday season isn’t over until after Jam Cruise. And for many, yesterday’s sail away was also a grand way to get out of the country for a few days. A little later in the month than usual, Jam Cruisers set sail on their new home, the Norwegian Pearl, for their first of five days at sea. With stops in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Grand Cayman Island, the 15th installment of Jam Cruise is on its way to tropical paradise – with an overdose of once-in-a-lifetime musical experiences.

Friday’s adventures kicked off as soon as the attendees were settled with a sail away toast and beer giveaway with Turkuaz on the Pool Deck, while more fans accompanied Todd Stoops during his piano set in Bar City. Next up on the Deck was The Revivalists, who brought extreme love and energy as the winds took sail. Moe. and BIG Something were next in the outdoor paradise, while The Soul Rebels, Kamasi Washington, and Break Science took over the Stardust Theatre. Meanwhile Lebo & Friends and Beats Antique held down the Spinnaker Lounge and Cris Jacobs in the Crystal Atrium. DJ Williams conducted the Jam Room while Gabe Mervine hosted the Jazz room, as DJ Soul Sister kept the party going until well into the morning.

It was a successful first night, with plenty more to come. Jam Cruisers will spend a full day at sea today with sets from Lettuce, Twiddle, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Dopapod, the highly-anticipated Benevento Russo Duo, Kamasi Washington, and so many more. Check out the full schedule here.
