One of the most exciting tributes to the late Frank Zappa is the band Cosmik Playground, which features a rotating cast of musicians anchored by guitarist Marcus Rezak (Digital Tape Machine) and bassist Arthur Barrow (Frank Zappa). Last night, the two brought in Jason Hann (The String Cheese Incident), Joel Cummins (Umphrey’s McGee), and Aaron Provisor (JMSN) for a wild night of Zappa’s music at TRiP Santa Monica in Santa Monica, CA.
The sold-out show saw the band take on a number of favorites from Zappa’s catalog, as well as a couple selections from Umphrey’s McGee, The Doors and more! Fortunately, Steve Rose Photos was on the scene to capture this performance. Check out a gallery of images, as well as the setlist, below.
