Somewhere in the midst of cajun, bluegrass and jam music comes Leftover Salmon, bringing their unique blend of feel-good music now for over 25 years and counting! Salmon continues to impress at every turn, and the group recently made their way to the Echo Mountain Recording Studios for the IamAVL.com live in studio concert series, Echo Sessions. The result was a one-of-a-kind jam session.

The band opened the studio doors and brought in a number of local musicians to share the studio space, including Jay Starling, Jon Stickley, Woody Wood, Steve Burnside, Steve Trisman, Drew Matulich and Billy Cardine. With the guests joining the five esteemed musicians, there was nothing but sweet music in the air.

Founding member Vince Herman spoke to us about the experience, saying, “Echo Mountain is the best musical sandbox to play in that I’ve ever hung out in. Great equipment old and new. Incredible space. Really competent engineers. Awesome staff and a real community feel to the place. You can tell that Asheville really appreciates having access to such a world class recording facility, and the vision of community building that they promote. Amazing place.”

Thanks to IamAVL and Leftover Salmon, we’re excited to premiere some great videos from this session! Feast your ears below.
