Known for his collaborations with hip hop artist Aesop Rock, the down-tempo electronic music artist Blockhead continues to make a name for himself in the dance scene. One of the most successful artists on the Ninja Tune label, Blockhead has toured the world over and has teamed up with artists like Bonobo, Amon Tobin, Diplo and more. By crossing over between hip hop and electronic worlds, Blockhead creates something unique and energetic for all to enjoy.

So, when Blockhead asked us to premiere his track “Carousel,” naturally we jumped at the opportunity. Featuring vocal contributions from the late Pierre Michel, Blockhead remixes the tune and the result is simply sublime. Tune in below:

Blockhead shares his inspiration for the track, saying, “‘Carousel’ is a song I made using vocals from Pierre Michel. Pierre was a an old friend of mine who I was in a group with called The Mighty Jones. He passed away about ten years ago and we never even got to record an official song with him but I happened across this song and thought it would be cool to remix it.”

Riding the waves of his recently-released Bells & Whistles LP, Blockhead is looking forward to an exciting 2016. Check out his newest album via Bandcamp, and catch him on tour with Eliot Lipp this Spring! Tour dates below:
