Chicago-based jamtronica veterans Future Rock return with their fifth full length album, Long Ago, due out this Friday, April 15th via 1320 Records. With a sound reminiscent to that of Daft Punk, DFA and more, the group’s latest release focuses heavily on songwriting, all the while keeping the beat grooving.

“We’ve always pushed the boundaries between rock and dance music,” says keyboardist Mickey Kellerman in a statement. “With this album, there is a juxtaposition between tenses, our band name, Future Rock, and our album name, Long Ago. It symbolizes that we’re still thinking progressively with synths and electronic elements, but we’re also looking back and delving into the art of songwriting.”

Future Rock also enlisted help from Tibaut Bowman and Anna Soltys to contribute to the creative process, helping to craft a glorious record through tireless production and manipulations. With stand-out tracks like the powerful “Long Ago,” the twisted dance tune “Go With It” and a catchy finale in “A Better Way,” Long Ago is one album you don’t want to miss.

Fortunately, L4LM is honored to provide a full stream of Long Ago, featuring seven all-original tracks. With only a few days until this is released, you’ll be glad you stopped by for a listen. Stream Long Ago, below:
