Now a running tradition during Jazz Fest, the Howlin’ Wolf venue in New Orleans, LA welcomed an all-star ensemble for the annual Dead Feat celebration. Performing songs from both the Grateful Dead and Little Feat catalogs, among many other selections, the show brought some great times for a night of pure and blissful music, including support from Papa Mali & Friends.
The band was packed with talent, as Fred Tackett and Paul Barrere of Little Feat anchored the bunch, with Anders Osborne, Papa Mali, Jackie Greene, Brady Blade, John Gros, and Carl Dufrene all contributing to the music. The band also welcomed violinist Anne Harris on two songs throughout the show, “The Weight” and “Sugaree.” You can watch “The Weight” below:
