VIP ticket holders at Summer Camp Music Festival got an extra-special treat last night, in the form of a private, semi-acoustic set from festival hosts moe.! The raucous crowd was delighted, as the band was loose and ready to get down.  moe. has always been known for their strong sense of silliness, and that spirit showed brightly as percussionist Jim Loughlin stepped out from behind his various xylophones and noise-making toys to bust a rhyme on the band’s take on the House Of Pain classic “Jump Around.” The band practiced what they preached, with bassist Rob Derhak and guitarist Al Schnier bouncing to the beat with the happiest of grins plastered on their faces!

After that and many other free wheeling moe.ments, Loughlin had to leave for his dueling set with the incredible Mike Dillon on the Campfire stage (Highlights of that jaw dropping performance coming soon), but the crowd refused to let the band leave without an encore, and moe. obliged with a Jim-less rendition of their beloved tune “Moth,” which saw guitarist Chuck Garvey pull double duty, filling in on the shaker!

Since we’ve always felt everyone was “Very Important,” our own Rex Thomson (The mayor of moe.down himself) was on hand to film the silliness and is more than happy to share it with all of you!  Enjoy!
