The innovative horn-and-drum trio that is Moon Hooch just released a brand-new video for their song “Jiggle.” The Brooklyn-based band has made waves with unique and groovy take on electronic dance music that relies on new and ingenious ways to play to their instruments. The band is always a pleasure to see live, with their bold mix of jazz, funk, and rock over a pounding beat guaranteed to get folks dancing and their unique, inventive playing guaranteed to captivate (and sometimes, confuse—I’m looking at you, traffic cone, and how you make the sounds that you do).

This latest video is for Moon Hooch’s song, “Jiggle,” which is off of the band’s late-2016 release The Joshua Tree EP. With the trio gaining fame for their performances in New York City subway stations, the video for “Jiggle” is certainly a change of scenery from what may be traditionally associated with the group, as the video’s completely shot in California’s Joshua Tree National Park. However, the video isn’t necessarily a change of pace from the big city, with the frenetic sound of the track accompanied by images of a naked man, namely Moon Hooch drummer James Muschler, scuttling across rocks, a hilarious chase scene, and more.

The video for “Jiggle” was completely improvised, notes the band. Moon Hooch’s Wenzl McGowan, said this of the video, “The video was shot in Joshua Tree national Park. We hiked with a camera and we had no idea what we would shoot. The ideas came to us while we were filming.” His band mate, Mike Wilbur, followed up,”Not everything in life can be rationally explained. Sometimes you find yourself running through the desert chasing your naked friend with a stick.”

Coinciding with the Live For Live Music premiere of Moon Hooch’s new video for “Jiggle,” the trio has announced thirty new shows for their summer tour, including dates for their extensive European tour focused primarily in France, Germany, and the UK.
