Tedeschi Trucks Band brought their Wheels of Soul Tour to the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park in Indianapolis, IN with Hot Tuna and The Wood Brothers for another night of synergetic musicianship across the board. The twelve-piece powerhouse consistently delivers an outstanding mix of originals and covers, executing authentic interpretations of songs both old and new to thrilling effect. The band’s school of thought is simple: honor your teachers, and welcome new students. Their setlist often includes musical nods to heroes of the Blues and Rock and Roll, and Wednesday night’s show was no different.

With covers of Derek and the Dominos, Eldmore James, The Beatles, Billy Taylor, The Rolling Stones, and Blind Willie McTell, Tedeschi Trucks Band (and The Derek Trucks Band) originals sprinkled through to even out a complete show of mastery. The encore featured “Statesboro Blues,” a song guitarist Derek Trucks has famously played many times with the Allman Brothers Band.

Hot Tuna’s Jack Cassady and Jorma Kaukonen joined the band on “The Sky Is Crying,” and The Wood Brothers returned for “Sweet Virginia.” Check out the full setlist below, and don’t miss the Wheels of Soul Tour in a city near you. Head to their website for more information.
