The Disco Biscuits wasted no time getting to work at New York’s PlayStation Theater, jamming hard for some late night trancey fun. The group has a number of themes and events planned for their four night stand at the midtown venue, and opened up their run by playing fan-selected setlists from two fans, Sean “Beef” Gruchik and Rich Steele.

The band was more than up for the challenge, opening with a “Crickets -> Very Moon Funk > Crickets” segment and jamming relentlessly throughout the whole performance. The first set also featured stellar versions of “Morph Dusseldorf,” “Rock Candy,” and “Digital Buddha,” each reaching new heights to keep the crowd grooving along.

The second set featured two songs primarily, “Basis For A Day” and “Spacebirdmatingcall.” The two were played intertwined, with an inverted “Mulberry’s Dream” sandwiched in the middle. All in all, a total of three songs were played in the second set, albeit in various compartments. The show closed with “I Remember When.”

The Biscuits will return to PlayStation Theater tonight for a secret, surprise New Year’s show for which Marc Brownstein is very, very excited. Read his interview here.
