With the Wild Woods Festival fast approaching, we had the chance to chat with Ryan DuBois of GreenVibe Entertainment, the hosts of this intimate festival in Croydon, NH. The festival will be held from August 8-10; for more information feel free to check out their official website, or our festival preview.

1. The Environment

Wild Woods, and their organizers GreenVibe Entertainment, are committed to “going green” for their inaugural festival experience. There are a number of eco-conscious organizational decisions that will ultimately enhance the experience while reducing its carbon footprint. According to DuBois, “As a company and as a community we are aiming to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We will have composting bins on site along with our trash and recycling bins. We got a sponsorship from this amazing company called Natur-Tec based out of Minnesota. They will be supplying us with biodegradable trash bags and cutlery for our food vendors. We will also have a food drive on site through Strangers Helping Strangers.”

It’s morally-conscious decisions like these that show the true colors (green, in particular) of their hard-working organizers. This festival should boast quite the friendly community.

2. The Arts

Wild Woods Music & Arts Festival lives true to its name, as the festival boasts not only a diverse lineup but a number of artistic outlets as well. According to DuBois, “[Wild Woods] is very excited for the arts factor of our festival and have been putting a lot of focus into that aspect. We will have a variety of different live painters on site, art workshops, and art installations throughout the festival grounds. Being a transformational festival is what we are aiming for to go along with the music, offering something more and something unique. Along those lines we have daily yoga workshops, meditations, community open mics.” With a seemingly unlimited amount of activities, Wild Woods is an all-inclusive experience that cannot be paralleled.

3. The Land

Wild Woods is situated on Page Farm in beautiful Croydon, NH. Home to numerous unique events (like Fusion Festival, Big Dig Music and Mining Festival, and Native Summer), the land is immediately adjacent to Lake Sunapee; a delightful setting for three nights of festivities. The festival also offers both car camping and woods camping, and recommends the latter. The forest will provide the perfect shade from early morning sunshine, and is ideal for stringing up those festie hammocks.

4. The Music

Of course, no music festival is complete without, well… the music! For three nights, you can see some of the best names in the business, including Kung Fu, Consider The Source, Govinda, The Nth Power, Twiddle, and more.  The festival organizers are particularly proud of the diversity in their lineup, to which they just added the producer and DJ Blockhead. As DuBois commented, “We are very excited to have legendary electronic and hip hop producer Blockhead performing at Wild Woods this August. We were really aiming for a diverse lineup that would give musical lovers a little taste of everything.”
