Future Roots pioneer John Brown’s Body is in the midst of a successful Fall tour in support of its latest release, Fireflies, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae chart. Their eleventh release mirrors the success of 2013’s Kings and Queens album and 2008’s Amplify, which also both debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart.

The band’s newest video, “Old John Brown,” radiates the energy of the group’s exciting live performances. JBB offers a glimpse of their lively performance at Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, NY. “Old John Brown,” off the album Kings and Queens, is one of the stand out tracks John Brown’s Body plays live, highlighting a diverse set of new and classic songs.

Says the band, “‘Old John Brown’ is a tribute to the band’s namesake, John Brown, an American abolitionist who believed armed insurrection was the only way to overthrow the institution of slavery in the United States prior to the American Civil War. This song was written to bring awareness of his efforts standing up for justice in the face of such strong opposition.”

Watch the exciting premiere of “Old John Brown” below!

JBB is on tour now celebrating their fruitful two-decade career as one of the first national touring reggae acts, laying the foundation for other American reggae acts to grow from. After a short break in December, the dynamic 8-piece will hit the road again with a string of tour dates in early 2017 – reconfirming their title as one of the hardest working reggae bands in the business. Their latest album, Fireflies, is the perfect release to celebrate a fruitful 20-year career, encapsulating the evolution of the band while demonstrating that they are nowhere close to stopping.
