The most exciting thing about Phil Lesh & Friends is that you never quite know who will be brought together to join the Grateful Dead bassist and also, what kind of material they might play. Some nights are more Dead-centric while others feature more cover tunes, dependent on the ever-changing nature of the band’s composition.

The Green-Sky’s The Limit: Anders Beck On Phish, Grateful Dead, And All Things Bluegrass

While on a 2005 fall tour, Lesh featured an ensemble of Chris Robinson, Larry Campbell, John Molo, Mookie Siegel, and Barry Sless, playing a number of shows on the East Coast that tour, including a stop at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA on this date 10 years ago. The set featured a great mix of songs, including renditions of The Band’s “The Weight,” the Chris Robinson original song “Eagles on the Highway,” as well as Dead staples, “Tennessee Jed,” “He’s Gone,” and “Mountains of the Moon.”
