These days, it seems as though there is a new festival popping up just about every day in every corner of the country. With the market so saturated, what sets one festival apart from the rest of them? We took an in-depth look at the upcoming Vertex Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado to determine what makes it special, and why it should be at the top of your radar this summer.

1. Seasoned Veterans

Brought to you by Madison House Presents, the force behind Electric Forest and Rothbury, Vertex already has nearly a decade of top-tier, expertly curated festival experience under its belt. The producers have been searching for the perfect festival site for 20 years, making sure it has everything to properly carry out their vision, so you know this won’t be your typical rookie first-year fest.

2. On-Site Vacation Vibes

The site comes equipped with a beach, featuring a wading pond and island bar, that hosts live music throughout the day and a Silent Disco all night. Nature vibes are rampant throughout the site, surrounded by 360 degree mountain views, a creek running throughout the festival, tons of greenery, a star observatory with telescopes, and plenty of hammock zones.

3. Off-Site Field Trips

To make this even more of a destination event, the fest provides plenty of options for off-site excursions. Go white water rafting down the scenic Arkansas River amidst breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, hike through the ghost town of Hancock, play a fun game of disc golf, or just take a free shuttle into the town of Buena Vista to explore its many restaurants, outdoor apparel shops, and bakeries. You really can’t go wrong.

4. Go Local

The town of Buena Vista is a hidden gem, located just a couple of hours outside of Denver. Vertex is truly a festival by Coloradans, for Coloradans, with a focus on local vendors and everything carefully placed and curated. Oskar Blues, Eddyline and Elevation are just a few of the local and hyperlocal craft beers that will be offered.

5. The Music, Of Course!

Vertex’s stand-out lineup taps into a wide array of genres and really nails the crossover scene. With two sets of Trey Anastasio Band, Alabama Shakes, Odesza, Gramatik, Lettuce, The Revivalists, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, Graham Nash, Anderson Paak, Emancipator Ensemble, and tons of other acts across electronic, jam, funk and beyond, there is something for just about everyone.
