When Phife Dawg passed away earlier this year, fans assumed that would signal the end of A Tribe Called Quest. Fortunately, we’ll have one last chance to listen to the full band play together, as L.A. Reid – CEO of Epic Records – divulged in an interview that a new ATCQ album is on the way, and it features all of the members.

According to Reid, the album was recorded prior to Phife’s death, and includes every member of the collective, including Jarobi White. “Man, it’s really something special,” said Reid. “It’s one of the things that I’m most excited about of everything we’re working on.”

The full interview can be heard on the Rap Radar podcast, with the discussion about the album coming roughly around the 14:45 mark. In the discussion, Reid says that the album is “coming soon,” only getting us even more excited about this new Quest release. The last new album from the group came in 1998, when they released The Love Movement.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted as to any news regarding a new A Tribe Called Quest album.
