Music photographer Michael Weintrob needs your help to make his new book a reality! The concept is certainly intriguing, as Weintrob plans to release a full-length book titled InstrumentHead, where the musicians are pictured holding up their instruments to cover their faces.

To fully fund the project, Weintrob has launched an IndieGoGo page where interested parties can donate to the cause. With levels ranging from personalized thank yous to postcards to signed books and limited edition prints, your love for InstrumentHead will not go unrequited.

Weintrob discussed his inspiration for the new book, saying, “When I began to really think about these intriguing, larger-than-life characters for whom music is seemingly just as important as air, I thought ‘Where their head is really at’ summed up the whole idea perfectly.”

The book features the likes of several well known artists (though you wouldn’t know it from the pictures!), including Bootsy Collins, Matisyahu, Mickey Hart, Johnny Winter, Dave Schools, John Popper, Derek Trucks, Matt Abts and so many more!

Allen Toussaint, who previewed InstrumentHead, said, “When you mix art and music together like you’ve done here, it’s just phenomenal. It doesn’t get much better than this.”

With a portion of the proceeds going to benefitting a number of New Orleans charities, this is a slam dunk. Donate by heading to IndieGoGo, and watch a video previewing the new project below:
