It is no secret that Phish loves them some Frank Zappa; so much so that drummer Jon Fishman even put his own Zappa Picks compilation together (check it out on Amazon). It only makes sense to show some late-night love to one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.
Percussionist and long-time Zappa band member Ed Mann will be spearheading a funk-filled tribute to his late bandleader, billed as Cosmik Playground, and will be joined by some of the jam scene’s best, with keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ), guitarist Marcus Rezak (Digital Tape Machine), drummer Scotty Zwang (Dopapod), bassist Dan Lotito and special guest guitarist Gabriel Marin (Consider the Source).
Nyack, NY prog-funk rockers ShwizZ will be lending their support and sitting in during the set as well, for what is sure to be a grand finale to this epic 3-night run of shows on Sunday, July 3rd at Putnam Den right in downtown Saratoga Springs.
