According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter, actress Amy Adams is attached to play Janis Joplin in an upcoming, long-awaited biopic. Get It While You Can does not yet have a release date, but a number of people from the creative team of Dallas Buyers Club, including director Jean-Marc Vallee and writers Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack, are in negotiations to work on the project.
The film has gone through several incantations over the last year (something that 30 Rock made fun of years ago), with a number of directors coming in and out of the project. This one is slated to begin production during the second half of 2015, and we’re hoping it gets made!
