According to a report in ABC 10 News, a couple were performing oral sex onstage during a Dead Kennedys show last Thursday at the Belly Up venue in Solana Beach, CA. The report includes a firsthand account from a concertgoer only identified as Chris, who confirmed that a naked woman was indeed receiving oral sex onstage, during the song “Police Truck.”
Now, the Dead Kennedys haven’t performed with their original lead singer, Jello Biafra, since 2001, but this seems like an absurd way to stir up some excitement at a show. As the eyewitness Chris stated, “this was something definitely different to see at a punk concert.”
In addition to the blurred photo included on the ABC 10 News report, the following photos were also posted to Reddit.
Reports on the reponses to the oral sex have been mixed, with an official statement from the venue saying that “security stopped it right away.” However, one Reddit commenter said “No, they did not make the couple stop. This was going on well into the 3rd song (Police Truck) I think they stopped when people stopped paying attention to them.”
ABC News 10’s witness Chris said, “I think it was more an oddity, people just saw something strange for a few minutes.” Considering it was a few minutes of activity, it doesn’t sound like security minded all that much. Can you blame them?
