According to a new report in TMZ, the daughter of legendary guitarist B.B. King is claiming that his manager, Laverne Toney, is preventing anyone from seeing King in hospice care. King, 89, has been suffering with health issues as of late, to the point that Toney is claiming that King is “at death’s door.”
It seems that even King’s famous guitarist friends, including Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, and Willie Nelson, have all been denied access to BB King. Daughter Karen Williams has even accused Toney og embezzling money from B.B., saying that more than $453,000 has been removed from his account. She also claims that Toney hired a caregiver that got too drunk and let King hit his head, and that Toney refused to pay for dental bills to treat abscesses on the grounds that King was broke – even though he recently had $5 million in his account.
This drama surrounding what appears to King’s final days is incredibly unfortunate, as the guitarist is one of the most extraordinary performers to walk this Earth. We wish him all the best.
