After a busy year of releasing new tracks in single-only format, and Song Reader, 20-songs of sheet music to which he dared other artists to come up with their own musical representations, Beck has finally confirmed the follow-up album to 2008′s Modern Guilt. Beck recently signed to Capitol Records and will be releasing Morning Phase in February of 2014.

Morning Phase has been described as a companion piece to Beck’s 2002 classic album Sea Change, which features many of the same musicians Beck played with on that particular album. Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, Roger Joseph Manning Jr., and Jason Falkner all play on the album, and are currently on tour with Beck. Morning Phase harkens back to the stunning harmonies, song craft and staggering emotional impact of that record, while surging forward with infectious optimism.
