Yet another Brooklyn venue has announced that it will be forced to shut down. Cameo Gallery revealed today that it will close its doors for good on November 21st. Welp, there goes the neighborhood, as they say.

Cameo has been a Williamsburg staple for the past seven years. The intimate space has hosted a number of premier acts, including Mumford and Sons, The War On Drugs, Twin Shadow, Neon Indian, Nicolas Jaar, Toro y Moi and tons of others.

The announcement follows a series of independent and DIY Brooklyn venue closings in recent years, including Glasslands, Death By Audio, 285 Kent, and the Brooklyn Night Bazaar, which was turned into a BMW dealership.

The news came today via a Facebook post:

“Dear Brooklyn,

As all good things must come to an end, Cameo Gallery will be closing its operations on Nov. 21st, 2015. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to have been part of an amazing music scene. We want to give a heartfelt thanks to all those who have been a part of our existence since we opened our doors 7 years ago. We’ve seen some great acts blow through our intimate space, to name a few: Neon Indian, Twin Shadow, Blood Orange, Toro y Moi, Sharon Van Etten, The War on Drugs, Nicolas Jaar, Mumford & Sons, St. Lucia and let’s not forget legendary DJs like Frankie Knuckles, Juan Atkins, DJ Sprinkles, and countless more. In the meantime, we invite you to come enjoy the last events we have in store. CMJ is right around the corner and we’ll be announcing all of our final shows and parties as the weeks dwindle down.

We look forward to enjoying these final moments with you.

❤ – The Cameo Team”
