Earlier this year, fans of ice cream rejoiced when Ben & Jerry’s announced the release of their “cores” series. This included one flavor called “Hazed and Confused,” an ode to Led Zeppelin‘s “Dazed and Confused.” However, it appears that many people are confused themselves, criticizing the ice cream moguls for making light of student hazing. After several complaints, the company is considering a name change.

Though named for its hazlenut fudge core (mmm), the company has taken a lot of heat for the misunderstanding. Ben & Jerry’s spokesman Sean Greenwood defended the flavor to The Huffington Post, saying,

“The ice cream contains hazelnuts, so it was always meant as a pop culture reference to ‘Dazed and Confused.’ Ben & Jerry’s believes that hazing and bullying have no place in our society. No individual, group, or entity should benefit by marginalizing others.”

A name change for the flavor may go into effect. In the meantime, listen to the song that inspired it all:
