On Saturday night, the legendary drummer Bernard “Pretty” Purdie took to Denver for an intimate performance at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. For the Bernard Purdie and Friends show, the drummer tapped The New Mastersounds’ guitarist Eddie Roberts and bassist Pete Shand, in addition to keys player Robert Walter of Greyboy Allstars and sax player Nick Gerlach. The show also saw sit-ins by Lettuce and Break Science’s own drummer Adam Deitch, making for a truly special night, and more or less serving as a passing-of-the-torch between the two generations of drumming royalty. You can check a handful of videos from last night’s show below, courtesy of Ashley Roberts.
