One-of-a-kind instrumental Phish tribute band Jazz Is Phish will receive an added boost from noted Phish-collaborator Carl “Geerz” Gerhard when they hit The Hall at MP on February 18. A childhood friend of Phish keyboard player Page McConnell, Gerhard is best known for his work on trumpet with The Giant Country Horns and The Cosmic Country Horns, having played with the Vermont jam band extensively during their 1991 Summer Tour, then intermittently throughout the years, the last time coming in 2012 in Portsmouth, VA.

Gerhard’s work will be forever celebrated on Phish’s Hampton Comes Alive release, where you can hear him on “Cavern” and a cover of Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping.”

Brain child of the Chases brothers, Adam Chase and Matthew Chase of Strange Design and The James Brown Dance Party, Jazz Is Phish will include a dynamic lineup of Michael Ray (Sun Ra, Giant Country Horns), Chris Bullock (Snarky Puppy), Kevin Moehringer (TV On The Radio/High & Mighty Brass Band), Todd Stoops (RAQ), Anthony Wellington (Victor Wooten Band), James Casey (Trey Anastasio Band/Animus Rexx), and Josh Thomas (With Lions).

Tickets for Jazz Is Phish at The Hall at MP are available now and can be found here.
