Big Gigantic may have played to a crowd of 40,000 people at Governors Ball yesterday, but the live electro-funk duo consisting of Dominic Lalli on sax and Jeremy Salken on drums really brought the event of the weekend to their official afterparty at Brooklyn Bowl. Dubbed “Big Gigantic and Friends,” the set exceeded expectations with surprise appearances from the Shady Horns, Eric Krasno, Cherub, Rahzel and Chris Bullock of Snarky Puppy.

The band delved in to a wide variety of songs from their catalogue and beyond, busting out the hits like “Sky High” and their well-loved remixes of ” “I Need A Dollar” and “Get Em High” to a raging crowd. Complete with a little help from the top-notch horn section made up of Lettuce and Snarky Puppy members, the band got incredibly funky. Kraz jammed on a few tracks to really take the show to another level.

Rahzel, formerly of The Roots, was an exciting surprise as he came out to show off his beatbox mastery on a track.

Cherub later joined the party, putting their electro-indie flare on their joint track with Big G, “The Night Is Young.”
