After a string of surprise performances at Sweetwater Music Hall with Lukas Nelson and Bill Kreutzmann, the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir made an even more surprising appearance at his old high school, where he had been kicked out for smoking pot. For his 50 year reunion at the Fountain Valley School in Colorado, Weir played alongside local group The Fever on songs like “Shakedown Street” and “One More Saturday Night.”

In addition to the performance, the school finally awarded him a diploma!

The official Bob Weir documentary, The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir, premiered earlier this week on Netflix to great reviews. Watch the trailer here.
