Fans of Trey Anastasio were disappointed when the Phish frontman sang on only two songs at the initial Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well reunion shows in Santa Clara, sharing their wishes for Chicago with a viral #LetTreySing hashtag. Apparently the band listened, as Trey took it to another level this weekend leading on both guitar and vocals throughout.
For last night’s final encore in Chicago, fans were delighted when Bob Weir was seen rocking a “Let Trey Sing” t-shirt. Big Gigantic manager Ben Baruch produced the shirts and they are now available to the public, with proceeds going towards Phish’s Waterwheel Foundation and the Grateful Dead’s Rex Foundation.
