The Boston Red Sox will be the third team in 2015 to pay tribute to the Grateful Dead, as the team has announced a Dead-themed evening at Fenway Park on September 21st.

Recently, the San Francisco Giants called on Mickey Hart and NBA star/Deadhead extraordinaire Bill Walton for a Grateful Dead Night celebration. The festivities were fitting, considering the historical connection between the band and the Northern California area. Not to mention the Dead’s 50th anniversary.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Reds will also be hosting a Grateful Dead tribute night, complete with a fireworks show synchronized to Grateful Dead music. The Boston festivities will feature an pre-game set on Yawkey Way from the Dead cover band Fennario, and fans in attendance will receive a Grateful Dead/Boston Red Sox t-shirt, seen below:

In addition, a portion of proceeds will go to benefit the Rex Foundation, a charity organization with a longtime affiliation to the Grateful Dead. Tickets and more information can be found via the team’s website.
