Ever read or see something and just automatically groan and think to yourself, “Why?” Well, this very well could be one of those moments (at least it is for us). Today, H&M unveiled their latest “H&M Loves Coachella” clothing line – yeah, we just vomited in our mouth a little bit too. The Swedish retail outlet has announced reasonably priced clothing ranging from $4.95 to $49.95, which will feature the “BoHo chic stylings” (did we really just write that?) that can be seen on many of the L.A. high society that attend the festival – stay in 5-star hotels – and look nothing like your average festival-goer that has been sweating, camping and roughing it in a tent over the course of your typical multi-day festival. At least you can now look the part, while not really looking the part.

This is what we have to look forward to, via WWD (Women’s Wear Daily): “The H&M Loves Coachella collection features all the BoHo touch points: fringe, tunics and cutoffs. H&M’s in-house team designed for women lace tops, rompers, graphic tops, crop tops and wide-leg pants. For men there will be graphic T-shirts and shorts.” Yeah, those graphic tees of bands that the people wearing them couldn’t name two songs by the actual band. “I, like, love the Rolling Stonessss….you know that one song, how does it go?….

While we appreciate the fact that H&M and Coachella are helping us look like the stars at an affordable price, we like to remember when music festivals were music festivals, NOT fashion shows. But hey, when there is a new revenue stream and money to be made, who are we to argue?

Oh, and if you are interested, these are some of the bands playing H&M Festiv….we mean Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this year: Jack White, AC/DC, Drake, Florence & The Machine, Tame Impala, St. Vincent, Ryan Adams, Interpol, Belle & Sebastian, Alt-J, Ride, and The Weeknd, Steely Dan, Alabama Shakes, Lykke Li, Caribou, Ratatat, Azealia Banks, Flying Lotus, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah.
