In 2015, on the second-annual Conan O’Brien “Scrapisode,” which airs a smattering of outtakes and unused material from the host’s late-night show, O’Brien and co-host Andy Richter took cue card man Kent Irwin to task over his love for Phish. The exchange is actually quite funny, as Irwin tells O’Brien and Richter he’s attended more than 160 Phish shows and why he continues to go see them.

As Conan jokes, “Guy’s living a better life than any of us. He gets it. He’s a Zen master.” Richter replies, “Please, he has to listen to Phish all the time.” As Conan corrects, thoughtfully, “He gets to.” When Conan pries into why Irwin goes to Phish concerts all the time, he replies matter-of-factly, “Because it’s the best music on the planet.” Well said, Kent.
