Instrumental jam rockers Consider the Source have been touring extensively, building a devoted following over the past few years. With the addition of drummer/percussionist Jeff Mann two years ago, the band kicked off into new dimensions, eagerly accruing new fans along the way.

The band has excitedly hit the studio for a new album project, entitled World War Trio. The album will be released in three parts: a six-track EP entitled “Put Another Rock In That Bag,” followed by a double album in Fall of 2015, to complete the three-part vision. The EP will be released on Halloween, where Consider the Source will debut the new music live and launch a tour to promote the release.

According to a press release, “in a departure from their usual style, the EP will focus on their compositional prowess, with the dazzling displays of  furious virtuosity taking a backseat. It features one section written by Jan Zerfeldt, mastermind of prog deities Panzerballet, with whom Consider the Source has toured throughout Germany and the US.”

Below, watch the trailer for the first part of World War Trio, which includes samples of the work and a behind-the-scenes look at the recording process:

The Halloween performance will be held at this year’s MantraBash in Ferguson, NC. By the looks of it, this has the making for a very special event.
