Dead & Company continued their roaring tour at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN last night, bringing their Grateful jams to the Northern city for an incredible night of music. The band continued their streak of consistently debuting new Grateful Dead songs on each stop of the tour, this time offering up two new treats: “Mexicali Blues” and “Cryptical Envelopment.”

The show was full of highlights, including a back and forth with Bob Weir and John Mayer on the opening number “Jack Straw” as well as the first set closer, “Casey Jones.” Interestingly, the “Cryptical” that was debuted in set two did not segue into “The Other One,” but rather worked into “Uncle John’s Band” and kept grooving through “Scarlet > Fire.” A cover of The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence” followed a trippy “Drums > Space” segment, and the set closed with “Going Down The Road Feelin’ Bad” and, of course, “One More Saturday Night.”

For the fourth time in five shows, the concert came to a close with a track from American Beauty, as “Friend Of The Devil” bid Minneapolis a fond farewell. Next up for Dead & Co is a two-night run at the 1stBank Arena in Broomfield, CO on Tuesday, 11/24 and Wednesday, 11/25.
