For two nights last weekend, an all-star cast of musicians teamed up for the 2nd annual Dead Feat concerts during the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival late-night festivities. On April 25th and 26th, the Dead Feat ensemble, featuring members of both The Grateful Dead and Little Feat, took to The Howlin Wolf for some great tunage!

Featuring Bill Kreutzmann, Fred Tackett, Paul Barrere, Anders Osborne, and Billy Iuso, the first of two nights kicked off with “Scarlet Begonias” > “Fire On The Mountain” before diving into fan-favorites from both catalogs, including “Bertha,” “The Other One,” “Dixie Chicken, and “Fat Man In The Bathtub.”

Meanwhile, night two brought Carl Dufrene, Tony Leone and John ‘Papa’ Gros to the mix, again diving into both band’s famed repertoires. A number of heavy-hitting Dead tunes, including “Eyes of the World” and “Sugaree,” were performed, as was Little Feat’s “Spanish Moon.” The band also played an Anders Osborne original, “Black Eye Galaxy,” which was one of the night’s many highlights.

Here’s footage from last year’s “Fire On The Mountain” below:
