Deadmau5 was recently nominated for “Best Canadian Act” at MTV’s European Music Awards, and let’s just say that he was less than thrilled about the “honor.” The EDM star took to Twitter to basically rip the music network apart, asking if there was any way for him to be taken out of the nomination, and for telling the honest truth that MTV doesn’t even play music anymore, instead choosing programs that highlight “pregnant teens and twits from the Jersey shore.” He has got a point. Leave it to Deadmau5 to lay it all out on the table. Even if you don’t like his music, you have to appreciate his honesty.
meh. can i somehow opt out of this? @mtvema

After acknowledging that he would catch plenty of flack for his comments, Deadmau5 describes how grateful he is for his fans:
ungrateful? no. I’m sitting here in the studio you guys helped me build making music for you. i can’ t tell you how grateful i am for that.

And then goes on to accurately describe all of MTV’s programs:
what? the same network regurgitates completely manufactored acts, shows about pregnant teens, and twits from jersey shore. im so honored!
