Beyond his unbelievable guitar playing, Derek Trucks likes to spend his free time fishing on the open waters. On March 24 and 26, Tedeschi Trucks Band played at The Byron Bay Blues Festival, with a well-deserved day off in between. During this time, Trucks apparently injured his left index finger after an errant fishing knife incident in the Bay, requiring a few stitches in the process.

However, the injury didn’t stop Trucks from leading the 12-piece band through an incredible night of music. Despite not being able to use his most prominent finger, especially as a slide player, Trucks still delivered a jaw-dropping guitar solo that erupted the crowd in praise.
