As we had previously announced, The Disco Biscuits will be holding their annual City Bisco event, taking over Philly from September 25th-27th, playing a 3-night run at the Trocadero, Electric Factory, and The Mann Center for the Performing Arts, respectively. This 3-night extravaganza of that pure, unadulterated thing we call Bisco has become an annual rite of passage for the most hardened of East Coast Biscuits fans. The run builds from an “Evening With” type show at the Trocadero with just Brownie, Barber, Magner, and Allen, to Tom Hamilton’s American Babies opening at the E-Factory, and culminating with a marathon at The Mann w/ Risky Disko, Orchard Lounge, and the Father of Disco and pioneer of EDM Giorgio Moroder. Rest your feet, and bring a comfortable pair of shoes, because this is going to be a dance party!

The Disco Biscuits have been on an absolute tear in 2014. Having found their groove with a series of multi-night runs in various cities around the US, several high-profile festival appearances, including a monumental set at this year’s Gathering of the Vibes with Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, the Biscuits are playing some of their best shows in years. And any true Biscuits fan knows that when the band plays Philly….well, it’s Philly, enough said!

At this point, if you don’t know who Giorgio Moroder is, you have been living under a rock. The legendary producer most recently worked with Daft Punk on their latest album, but his career spans back to the 60’s and most importantly the 70’s disco era, working on countless hits with Donna Summer, producing and scoring the soundtracks to Midnight Express, Scarface, American Gigolo, Flashdance, the Never Ending Story (yup!) and more. His DJ sets are filled with dance hits spanning the last 30 years, along with current remixes and tracks. He is currently working on a new album, so maybe we will get a hint at what he has in store for us in the near future.

American Babies shows a reinvigorated Tom Hamilton doing what he does best: writing songs. Getting back to basics, American Babies infuses the spirit of Americana rock, singer-songwriter sensibilities, and serious playing for a live show that brings a lot to the musical table. Their set at the E-Factory will lend itself nicely into what is sure to be a raucous evening at a venue that holds a lot of history for the Disco Biscuits.

Sophisticated and stylish sets, with a penchant for eclectic mixes, while always bringing a dance-driven set, Orchard Lounge is no-brainer for a party of this magnitude at the Mann Center. The Chicago-based duo of Bethany and Spencer Lokken have built a reputation of an act that adds to any party that they are involved in. Philly’s Risky Disko‘s journey began through a mutual friendship and love for classic disco and house music. Newcomers to the scene, expect a solid set of dance music to open the festivities at the Mann Center.

*** 3-Day Passes are currently available at the bands website. Tickets for the Trocadero can obtained through a 3-day pass. Electric Factory only tickets will be available in coming days.
