There’s no denying that venerated drummer Joe Russo is a fixture of the Brooklyn borough. When he’s not getting ready for his debut at Brooklyn Comes Alive next month, it seems the drummer is giving his two cents with the local media about a local “Dog Beach” in Prospect Park, which is set to re-open in the near future.

When watching NY1 this morning, Russo fan @FurryThug (on Twitter) discovered the drummer commenting about the re-opening of the Dog Beach. In the segment, which can be streamed here, Dog Owner Joe Russo says that having the renovations done early is “greatly appreciated.” Once JamBase found the clip, the video naturally has gone viral in the jam band community.

Russo poked fun at the situation as well, spotlighting his dog Molly on social media.

It seems that Russo is really committed to having Brooklyn come alive! Don’t miss him with Scott Metzger, Robert Walter and Andy Hess at Brooklyn Comes Alive on October 22nd, spread across three venues with over 50 artists performing! For details, head here.
