UPDATE: The Naughty Professor horns have been added to this funk-a-thon! Those guys will blow us all away, we can’t wait for this show!

New Orleans’ own Dumpstaphunk will return home to headline a full-blown funk fest leading up to this year’s Voodoo Music & Arts Experience. On September 25th, 2015, Live for Live Music and Live for Live NOLA present an evening showcasing some of the Big Easy’s freshest funk with Dumpstaphunk, Sexual Thunder and People’s Blues of Richmond on “The Road to Voodoo” at The Howlin’ Wolf. Get tickets HERE.

Each member of Dumpstaphunk’s talent and credibility is no joke. Keyboardist Ivan Neville and his cousin, guitarist Ian Neville, come from a long lineage of musical legends with one of the most recognizable names in New Orleans music. Dual bassists Tony Hall and Nick Daniels make up one of the dirtiest rhythm sections out there. Newest member Alvin Ford Jr. had some big shoes to fill once the incomparable Nikki Glaspie left the band, but he has managed to do so seamlessly, dominating behind the drum kit with unstoppable force. Overall, this is a special group of musicians with a unique chemistry and deep New Orleans roots.

Why Alvin Ford Jr of Dumpstaphunk Is One Of NOLA’s Baddest Drummers

Sexual Thunder has been on a roll lately, having just wrapped up a month long residency at the Maple Leaf that seriously elevated them to another level and has landed them in the ranks of newer New Orleans staples. Sexy T is an absolute funk party that is guaranteed to get you grooving, down and dirty.

With Maple Leaf Run, Sexual Thunder Shows Growth From College Roots

People’s Blues of Richmond will get the party started with their unique brand of psychedelic rock n’ roll. PBR shows are known for their heavy sound and fervent energy, and it’s not to be missed.

Join us on The Road to Voodoo with Dumpstaphunk, Sexual Thunder and People’s Blues of Richmond on Friday, September 25th at The Howlin’ Wolf. Tickets are now available HERE.
