Live for Live Music & Equifunk Present: A Throwback Phunksgiving with Dumpstaphunk Performing a 1970’s tribute set to Led Zeppelin, The Meters, Parliament Funkadelic, Sly & The Family Stone & other 70’s legends at BB King’s on Wednesday, Nov. 26th

Live For Live Music and Equifunk Festival decided to go ahead and take care of the planning of your Thanksgiving Eve this year. How does NOLA groove-doctors Dumpstaphunk paying a Phunktacular Tribute to 70’s funk music at BB King’s sound? Imagine the music of some of funk’s most legendary names being played by one band, under one roof (or is it one nation, under a groove? Well, that too) in one night of funk-filled fury.

Let Dumpstaphunk take you on a musical journey from the music of Led Zeppelin, NOLA legends The Meters, Sly & The Family Stone, to the straight-up party that the music Parliament Funkadelic provides. Other acts will be announced at a later date.

Basically, this is going to be a funk-fueled dance party like no other, rolled into a celebration of the music of some of Funk’s Forefathers, provided by Ivan Neville and his Dumpstaphunk cohorts. Since the release of their last album, Dirty Word, the Crescent City funk powerhouse has been on a non-stop mission to give the rest of the nation a taste of what Ivan Neville, along with Tony Hall, Nick Daniels III, Ian Neville, and new drummer Alvin Ford Jr. have been brewing down in New Orleans.

A busy 2014 saw the group open plenty of eyes at various festivals around the country, including Jam Cruise, Gathering of the Vibes, Flood City Music Festival, Lock’n, Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, and the Dave Matthews Band Caravan at The Gorge. The band will be coming off of what is sure to be yet another fire performance at the annual Bear Creek Festival, the week before this special show. The group also led a superjam tribute to Hall & Oates last year as a special Outside Lands late-night set at The Independent w/ appearances from John Oates, John Cleary, Trombone Shorty, Nicki Bluhm, actors Craig Robinson, John Stamos and other special guests in what was the most talked about set of the whole weekend.

Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 26th at B.B. King’s in New York City, as Live for Live Music & Equifunk Present: Phunksgiving with Dumpstaphunk 70’s tribute to Led Zeppelin, Sly & The Family Stone, The Meters, Parliament Funkadelic, and other throwback legends. In addition to the tribute set, Dumpstaphunk will be playing a classic set of their own hits, which are full of funk, soul, melody, and the musicianship that New Orleans is known for. This is a one-time show that you will not want to miss. Trust us!
