Just one week after the tragic death of founding drummer Justin Ehmer, Colorado jammers DYNOHUNTER took the stage at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO for their first-ever headlining set at the hometown venue. The group played the show on April 14th as a tribute to Ehmer, bringing in his friend Nic Thornsberry from music school to hold down the drumming duties.

You can read the band’s statement below, talking about the show, Ehmer, Thornsberry and more.

This live set represents a very special show for the band, one which we’ve been building towards since we first started playing music together. It was truly an honor to headline the legendary Fox Theatre in our hometown and having that show be a tribute to our beloved brother, Justin Ehmer, made this show all the more meaningful. This set features a ton of unreleased material, which we feel is the best representation of what we have been striving for artistically. Last but not least, we’d like to introduce, Nic Thornsberry (featured on this recording), as the new drummer for DYNOHUNTER. Nic is an incredible musician and has been a good friend to the band since he attended music school with Justin and Clark. When Justin was first diagnosed in 2012, Nic was his first call to sub for the band and ever since he’s helped us out whenever we needed him. We consider him family and we couldn’t think of anyone better suited to man the kit than Nic. This marks the next chapter of DYNOHUNTER and we are very excited for what the future holds for our family. Thank you to everyone for the support and please enjoy our first official live recording. A big thanks to our good friend Jason Kale for engineering this recording.
