Ed Sheeran Delivers Powerful Bill Withers Cover With Jon Batiste and Stay Human

Ed Sheeran geared up for tonight’s Bill Withers tribute at Carnegie Hall with an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The talented singer-songwriter tackled Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine”, backed by Colbert’s house band, Jon Batiste and Stay Human. The result is an incredibly passionate rendition of the tune that bodes well for those attending tonight’s “Lean On Him” performance.

Lean On Him features a star-studded roster including Sheeran, Dr. John, Sheryl Crow, Aloe Blacc, Amos Lee, Michael McDonald, Keb’ Mo’, Gregory Porter, Kathy Mattea, Ledisi, Branford Marsalis, Jonathan Butler, Anthony Hamilton and more, plus a special appearance from Bill Withers himself. D’Angelo was slated to perform, but had to cancel last minute due to an unspecified illness.
