This past weekend, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas welcomed 135,000 patrons to see some of the biggest names in electronic music today, from Tiesto to Flume to Pretty Lights and beyond. However, it wasn’t all fun and games, as one 24-year-old man reportedly passed away overnight after attending the festival Saturday evening. The victim’s identity and cause of death are currently unknown.

Tom Petty Bashes EDM Music and Festival; Pasquale Rottella Responds

According to Your EDM, 408 attendees required medical attention on Saturday — 118 less than the previous day. This isn’t incredibly surprising, given that temperatures were well in the 100s.

Sadly the situation seems like a deja vu, as a 24-year-old passed away at last year’s EDC Las Vegas. Prior to that, the festival was forced to move locations after a 15-year-old overdosed. Many would also recall the devastating story of a 22-year-old taking ecstasy at the festival before jumping off her hotel balcony.

In addition to the death, 26 narcotics-related felony arrests were made, as well as eight misdemeanor arrests, two gross misdemeanor arrests and five misdemeanor citations. There was one DUI arrest and one traffic accident reported. [Source]
