Fans of the indie group Fleet Foxes have a lot to celebrate today, as members of the band have all-but confirmed work on their first new music since 2011’s Helplessness Blues. In a piece published on DISTINCT, guitarist/vocalist Christian Wargo broke the good news to fans everywhere.

“It’s not, like, ‘announced’ or anything, and none of us really knew it was coming, but it’s happening… Possibly unofficially at this stage, but it’s definitely a thing,” said Wargo in the interview. He has been quite active in the band’s hiatus, with woodworking and illustrating projects.

Apparently a reunion with frontman Robin Pecknold spurred the talks of reforming the band, specifically at a Joanna Newsom concert that Pecknold was on as the supporting act. Pecknold has contributed music to an off-Broadway play and some other groups in the band’s downtime.

It will be nice to see what a freshly-united Fleet Foxes can do!
