New Zealand’s premiere comedy-folk duo, Flight Of The Conchords, have announced their triumphant return to the stage. The group will perform at the 2016 Newport Folk Festival, playing their first set in the US on Friday, July 22nd.

The Conchords found success in the US with their hit comedy series on HBO, which aired for two seasons from 2007-2009. The show saw the band work their original, folk comedy tunes into hilarious plotlines, with dry wit seeping throughout the series. To have them back and performing is certainly exciting, and we’re still keeping our fingers crossed for more tour dates.

Jemaine Clement spoke about a possible reunion tour and even a possible Conchords movie back in August of 2015, read our coverage of that here.

FOTC will join previously-announced Newport Folk Festival performers, like Ray LaMontagne, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Raury, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Father John Misty, The Oh Hellos, Villagers and Joan Shelley. More information is available here.
