Surely the Foo Fighters are as American as apple pie. Aside from celebrating their 20th anniversary on July 4th, Dave Grohl’s documentary Sonic Highways shined a spotlight on American music from coast to coast. Nevertheless, Grohl & co had no problem saluting our neighbors to the North when the band played a two-night stint at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON earlier this week.

On Wednesday night, the Foo Fighters debuted a version of Neil Young’s “Cinnamon Girl”, which you can listen to below:

The band also honored another Canadian rock and roll legend, the band Rush, with a version of “Tom Sawyer” on the same night, July 8th:

Continuing the celebration, the Foos worked in a medley of Rush covers on Thursday, July 9th as well, playing parts of “Tom Sawyer”, “2112”, “Spirit of the Radio”, and “Fly By Night”. You can see some of that below:
