Lettuce’s Adam Deitch & Adam Smirnoff To Host Ping-Pong Tournament For Charity At Fool’s Paradise

The second annual Fool’s Paradise is set to bring the heat to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on March 31 & April 1, with genre-bending music from Lettuce x2, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (with Jeff Chimenti), The Floozies, The Motet, Manic Science (a special set with Manic Focus & Break Science) The Main Squeeze, Organ Freeman, and Oteil Burbridge & Antwaun Stanley as artists-at-large.

Part of what makes Fool’s Paradise so unique is the one-on-one time fans get with their favorite musicians. The event itself is intimate, from the one-stage parameter to the nearby after parties – but there are also opportunities to have even more time with your favorite artists outside of the festival ground. Before the gates open on Saturday afternoon, Fool’s Paradise will offer three artist-led excursions for those in town for a full experience in St. Augustine.

One of which is a ping-pong tournament with Adam Deitch and Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff to raise money for The Water Collective – an international nonprofit that secures life-lasting clean water for rural communities in Africa and India. The organization was founded in 2011 to resolve the shortcomings of clean water access in the developing world, where 40% of water points are not working at any given time. 20-70% of installed handpumps in Sub-Saharan Africa are no longer functioning. In the estimated 1-4 billion people without safe drinking water, millions more have been stripped of a water source they used to have. In Africa alone it is estimated that in the past 20 years, 70 million people have lost access to safe water due to a failed source. Through The Water Collective, partnered communities are taught to manage the ecosystem around their water system like a fine-tuned business, so that clean water flows for generations to come. You can find out more about this important cause here.

If you think you have what it takes to go one-on-one in ping-pong, sign up TODAY for the chance to beat the pros and win various prizes! This event will be held at the Elk’s Lodge, directly across the parking lot from the Amphitheatre and the venue for late-night after-parties, starting at 1PM ET. Happening at the same time, local bands Ajeva, The Groove Orient, and Ben Strok & The Full Electric will be performing their tunes while the venue offers a full bar, and plenty of space to hang with your friends before the gates open at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. More information here.

If ping-pong isn’t your thing, you can also play mini-golf with Lettuce’s Jesus Coomes, Vulfpeck’s Antwaun Stanley, and The Motet’s Lyle Divinsky, or go sailing with The Shady Horns while they play a DJ set at sea. More information can be found here.
